Define the journeys your household needs
Write a short list of the appointments and services you expect to arrange during an ordinary stay. Keep medical details private; your property adviser needs location and access requirements. Distinguish a regular appointment from an occasional visit, because frequency changes how much weight a journey deserves.
For example, a buyer planning several appointments during each winter visit may value a straightforward pickup point more than another shared facility. A couple making occasional visits may choose differently. Describe your preferred transport method and who normally accompanies you, then use the same brief for every shortlisted apartment.
Confirm the service before measuring the distance
Two starting points are Nile Hospital, whose website gives Airport Road, and Royal Hospital, whose contact page gives Airport Road opposite Rajack School. These are discovery examples, not recommendations. Confirm directly which branch handles your required service, appointment arrangements and the entrance patients should use.
Record the name of the person who answered, the date and anything still awaiting confirmation. Do not convert a clinic logo on a neighbourhood map into a claim that every speciality is available there. A confirmed service at a specific reception is a much better basis for comparing homes.
Measure from the apartment, not the development sign
Begin the ordinary journey at the apartment door. Notice the corridor, lift, lobby and route to the vehicle pickup point. Then identify the gate actually used by residents. Large developments may have several entrances, and a sales-office pin may not represent your future departure point.
Continue to the intended reception rather than stopping at the hospital boundary. Log an observed journey with its date and conditions; never treat it as a guaranteed future travel time. Our guide to living without a car can help you extend this exercise to other everyday destinations.
| Check | Evidence to collect | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Provider branch | Direct confirmation of service and entrance | Uses the right destination |
| Apartment exit | Walked route to actual pickup point | Includes the building journey |
| Ordinary transport | Dated observation and return option | Tests your intended routine |
| Open questions | Named contact and follow-up date | Separates evidence from assumptions |
Include a routine appointment journey in your viewing trip
If the provider agrees, visit reception to understand registration and arrival arrangements. You do not need to book unnecessary medical services. Check where a companion can wait, how a taxi would collect you and whether the building entrance matches the information you received beforehand.
Build this into a trial stay before buying. Use the same method for each serious property candidate. A second visit at a different relevant time can expose practical questions that a single, carefully scheduled viewing leaves unanswered.
Keep location, suitability and insurance as separate checks
The official Egypt health guidance recommends checking that your destination can provide the care you need. Discuss individual suitability with your clinician and confirm administrative requirements with the provider. Your property adviser can help investigate the address and building arrangements.
Put provider suitability, insurance confirmation and property access in separate columns. A positive answer in one column does not complete the others. Likewise, an attractive apartment should not push an unresolved healthcare question into the background simply because the reservation deadline feels close.
Turn the route record into a buying criterion
Compare two or three homes using one short record for each: departure point, destination, transport method, observed route and unresolved questions. Add photographs of public entrances where permitted. Avoid photographing patients or collecting anyone else’s personal information while conducting your checks.
Then decide which compromises you are comfortable making. You may prefer a smaller apartment with a simpler everyday journey, or accept a longer route for another priority. The useful result is a clear, personal choice supported by observations, with essential open questions answered before you commit.
Your buyer checklist
- List the services you expect to arrange during your stay.
- Confirm the provider branch and correct patient entrance.
- Walk from the apartment door to the pickup point.
- Record an ordinary outward and return journey.
- Resolve essential service and insurance questions before reserving.
